it's been awhile...

Sorry it's been so long since i've updated this thing. It seems like I have so many social networking sites that i update, i forget some sometimes, especially this one.

This year has started off really well. This has been one of my favorite semesters at school, second only to the first semester I went to John Tyler. I'm taking Personal Wellness and Improvisation. I am enjoying both classes which in turn means I'm doing really well in each! I'm learning a lot in Personal Wellness, most of it is just common sense, but some of it I didn't know. I also like my professor in that class, I've stayed after class quite a few times to chat with him and ask him questions. He reminds me of my brother, so maybe that's why I like him so much. Then, Improvisation is just plain fun! It doesn't even feel like class. The only thing we have to do is a Journal every week, which is a little crappy, but not the worst thing in the world. So far i've been getting pretty good grades in both classes. I got a 97% on my Health Midterm, and a 100% on a presentation in that class! I also got a 100% on my Improvisation midterm! I'm not looking forward to this semester ending, because I have to take English this summer. I've been putting of taking this English class ever since I finished the first one, and that was in my first semester!

At the beginning of this month, my friend Katie came to stay with me for a week! She's from Michigan and she has VACTERL, just like me! We had a great time the first couple days she was here, but then i got sick, and i became the worst host in the world. Seriously, i'm surprised she's even my friend still. She got to meet Melissa and my nieces, which was great! I felt horrible though, and wasn't much of a host or a guest, sorry Melissa!! She also got to meet a couple of my friends from school, Max and Kadija! Luckily I was feeling better by then and we all had a good time.

Unfortunately, this year hasn't been all good. Just this Saturday, one of my VACTERL friends passed away. Her name is Chrissy, and she was 31. I only met her once at this last Conference in Philly, but we became instant friends and she changed my life. It's been a real shock for our whole community. It still really hasn't hit me that it's real. It scares me so much. She had surgery on Friday, and went home, felt sick and went back to the hospital because she thought she had pneumonia. They found a blood clot in her lung and tried putting a tube down her throat but her bp and heartrate went down and she didn't make it. I've been trying to forget that this has happened, and it's been working, but I know that it will hit me hard soon. I am not looking forward to that....
